Blink while alarm on

I've got 8.2 + DSC. I'd like to use the "Blink while alarm on" checkbox. But i noticed that controls don't blink correctly during alarms (though they blink normally if i manually set them to, with Blinking property).
Then i noticed Help says:

LabVIEW 8.2 includes the following enhancements to the Data Binding page of the Properties dialog box of all front panel controls:
(...)
* The Blink while Alarm On checkbox no longer appears.
First of all, here it DOES appear Smiley Tongue
However, is it not working because no longer supported? And they call it an "enhancement"?!? Smiley Mad
Did they simply remove the feature, or is there a new way to blink while alarm on?

I just wanted to confirm: with the blinking while on, do you get it to never stop blinking once an alarm has been triggered, even when the alarm has been cleared??

I have been trying to work around this too, and it is getting very tedious to create this same effect using the property nodes.

have you tried submitting this to NI??  Might be a good way to NI involved

No, it stops blinking when alarm ceases, and this is correct because i set Ack = Auto.

The way it blinks isn't correct: in LEDs and numeric boxes, for example, only the 3D border blinks, and it blinks light grey / dark grey Smiley Surprised Sometimes they didn't blink at all even on alarm.

All is fine (red / yellow) when using property nodes.

Do you have the same graphic problems, or just the one you said? That one is a matter of Ack: an alarm actually stays there until Acked, even if already cleared.

I tried to email NI, is there a better method for submitting bug reports?

I checked my variables, and I have them all set to Auto Ack.  My indicators blink correctly (blinking red when an alarm is triggered), but they never stop blinking even when the alarm is cleared.

Let me know if you hear anything from NI.

I talked with NI support. They confirm that there is a bug about using "Blink While Alarm On" with custom controls & indicators. Standard controls seem to work well, indeed. The problem will be solved in a future version of LabVIEW.
