Hello PincoG,

Before we try to disable the Device Monitor I would recommend reinstalling the driver.  First, uninstall NI-DAQmx using Add or Remove programs (it will be part of the NI Software entry) and then download NI-DAQmx 8.0.1 from our website and install that.  Please let me know if it fixes the problem.

Regards,

Laura

Hello PincoG, Arash, and Cl.Consulting,

Can one of you post a screenshot of the error you are getting about the device monitor initializing?  Also, after you get this error, are you still able to use whatever hardware you have installed?  Can you run test panels on it in MAX?

Your response is appreciated in helping us track this error.

Thanks,

Laura

Attached is the error msg screenshot.  The hardware does not work for me since windows has problems installing the device driver.

Thanks

Laura,

I have found a way to install the complete Labview 8 and the reconfigurable IO without the blue screen at restart.
I don't know if it's an universal solution but it work on my pc.
I have install LabView 8 without drivers and after that  every toolkit spécific to Labview 8 with a reboot between each installation.
After that I have install the real time package and fpga, always without any drivers but the ni-rio install MAX 4.0 and Visa 3.4.1.  No problem after reboot.
I have downloaded the last version off Visa Server 2.5 (+ MAX 4.0.2) and installed it. Reboot.
I finished with the installation of the Devices Drivers (8.0.1 downloaded from the NI site), item by item with a reboot between them.
And now everything is installed and run without any problem.
Nidevmon.exe run now at the startup.

I have no time to analyse the previous problem but I think, there is a problem of DLL dependance.

I hope this can help you !

Thanks

Hi Arash,

Did you email in to technical support?  If not, could you please do so?  When you do, please put my name in the email so that they know I asked you to email in.

Thanks!

I'm updating ten pc working with the same program. Ido not have to install labview 8 on each system because the they works witha compiled application.

Since the application seem to work correctly, and i don't need the NIDev monitor, is there a way to disable it? (Also when it doesn't start correctly?)

Thanks a lot.

Hello PincoG,

Have you installed NI-DAQmx on these other computers and seen this problem?  If you are not seeing this problem initializing the device monitor and you can see the icon in your task bar, you can right-click on it and choose "run at startup" so that it does not load at startup.  If you do not see the icon and are getting the initialization error, please go to ni.com/support and choose to email technical support.  Reference me and the problem that you are having in the email.

Thanks,

Laura
