You have a RS-232->USB converter that you are trying to use to communicate to an instrument? First, does the RS-232->USB converter show up in MAX (Measurement & Automation Explorer) as a com port? Have you tried using Hyperterminal to communicate to the instrument and does that work? Are you using one of the LabVIEW shipping serial examples to talk to the instrument? When you run your LabVIEW program, what are the exact error codes that you might be seeing? If the RS-232-> USB converter does not show up in MAX, then you won't be able to use LabVIEW. It may be a problem with the driver from the vendor. If you can't talk to it with Hyperterminal, then you may have an incorrect cable or your com settings and not right.
