Camera Hamamatsu XC-77 and LabView

Hello
I have a ancient Hamamatsu XC-77 CCD Video Camera. I would like to connect this camera to the computer and run with LabView and Vision. Could you tell me if it is possible ? If yes, what type of card I should use to drive my camera using LV and Vision
Tkank you

Hello TH.

Thank you for using NI Discussion Forums.

I need some more information about your camera before we move further.
Is your camera Analog, Digital, Firewire or Cameralink?  What is the connector that you are using to connect it to your computer?

Once we know this, I can help you in determining whether or not that camera will be supported by our HW and SW.  Also, what are you hoping to do in LabVIEW and Vision?
Please let me know and I will guide you further.

Hi iRish
One more question: which type of camera do you propose for science ? I need low-cost camera for low intensities of light. Could be driven through FireWire.

Thank for your answer

Hi TH,

Thanks for including the pictures.  For future reference, you can attach them to your forum post if you like as well.  Your camera is Analog.

All you will need to do image capturing is one of our Vision cards.  I would recommend the 1405 or 1411 (More information here: https://www.ni.com/en-us/shop/category/machine-vision.html)

In regards to your second question about which camera to use, I suggest you goto ni.com/alliance and contact one of our Alliance Members,  They can help you choose a camera based on your system requirements.  We concetrate mainly on vision control and Image Processing using our SW, but are definitely not experts when it comes to cameras.  Some things to consider will be reolution (smallest feature you want to meaure), interfaces (firewire, usb, GigE etc.) and pixel resolution (Grayscale - 8bit/16bit or colour).
