Camera control zoom take picture

Hey

Im an engineering student and my classmates and me got a project. For this project we need a cheap way to let labview give the photo camera the assignment "take a picture" and "zoom". What is the best way to do this? I found something about Vision Acquisition but that's quite expensive, isn't it?

For acquiring image, use USB camera (DirectShow compatible), and the USB camera acquisition driver (IMAQ for USB) is freely available.
