Can DMMs, spectrum analyzers, ..be used during co-simulation?

Hi ,

I am currently working on an assignment involving the use of a Multisim Design VI in LabView. I would like to know if I am able to use Multisim instruments like DMMs, oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers during co-simulation.

Thanks in advance!

Hey Zuzi,

What kind of instruments exactly do you plan to use in cosimulation ? Do you refer to real devices or measurment tools in Multisim ?

Also, check the following links bellow and see if they answer your question:

Hi Denis,

I refer to measurement instruments in Multisim.

It is important for my applications to be able to use Multisim instruments like DMMs, oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers during co-simulation. I got to this point after reading “Graphical System Design Guide to Power Electronics Co-Simulation with Multisim and LabVIEW” by Brian Maccleery. There is a paragraph that reads-

“Interactive mode simulations” are not supported in this release, therefore the XMM2 Multimeter cannot be used during co-simulation with LabVIEW. This feature is not yet committed for future releases since the roadmap is still in definition phase. Please let us know if it’s important for your applications you are able to use Multisim instruments like DMMs, oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers during co-simulation. “

Zuzi
