I am using the NI PXI-8252 1394 host adaptor (fire wire) to write data to hard disks. I am using it in a NI PXI-1042 chassis with a NI PXI-8145 RT controller. When I boot the system with the fire wire disk connected, the system may or may not "see" the disk. I find that I can unplug the fire wire cable after boot, then plug it back in and it will usually "see" the disk. Is there a way to have the RT OS rescan the fire wire bus? Ultimately I want to be able to boot the system and have it "see" whatever I may place on the bus while the system is either on or off.
