Can I install LV 6.1 without corrupting my LV 8.2.1

I have a client who needs me to update his application written in LV 6.1. He does not want me to change to a later version. What will happen if I try to install 6.1 on a computer that already has 8.2.1?

If you try to install 6.1 on a pc with 8.x or any other version, it will install 6.1 in a separate folder. You just have to be careful about installing hardware drivers. The drivers CD from 6.1 will overwrite what 8.x installed. What, ii any, hardware do you use?

The application uses GPIB and RS-232. I am worried that my newer (8.2) device drivers (and NIMAX) will get wiped out.

When you install 6.1, do a custom install and make sure none of the hardware drivers are selected. The GPIB and VISA drivers from 8.x should work with 6.1.
