Can I read the state of serial control lines?

I need to be able to read the current state of the CTS line. Does
anyone know of a NON-VISA solution?

I'm using LV 5.0.1 on a Win 98 machine. Due to certain contraints on
the existing software and time, it's not feasible at this point to
switch from "native" serial to VISA serial.
