Can NI-6210 record temperatures ? (Pt100)

Hi.
I need your support again, please.
I have a NI DAQ USB 6210, and i want to measure temperature with RTD Pt100 with 3 wires.
I know that this DAQ can handle RTDs, but i can't find a schematic with RTDs.
I put a Pt100 in Analog Input AI1 (2 wire), and the third wire in AIGND. I configured the RTD module with "external current" (2,5 mA) and I obtained a value (but not the real temperature). When i configured "internal current", there was an error.
1. Where can I find a schematic for RTDs?
2. Why I have an error on "internal error" ?

Take a look at this National Instruments article on "How to measure a
temperature with an RTD". http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/71
About half down the page it shows a diagram for a 3 wire
configuration. National Instruments also has another page titled "How
to guide for most common measurements" which may be of interest to
you. http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/7136

Hi dsasorin,

Here is a working link to the article hrh1818 spoke of, How to measure a
temperature with an RTD.  It’s a great resource for RTD measurements.

RTD sensors require a constant current excitation to operate. The USB-6210 does not have an internal constant current source. You can use the USB-6210 to measure the voltage across the RTD but you will need to provide an external current source to excite it. This is why your DAQmx Task errors when you set the current excitation source to internal. If you need a USB DAQ device that can provide the current excitation take a look at the USB-9219. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
