Can a third part FPGA product?

Can a third party supplier develop a PCI FPGA product and supply the necessary drivers for it to be used with LabVIEW FPGA. If yes, where can you find the information about the driver interface

National Instruments is in the process of developing more targets for the LabVIEW FPGA Module, and at this time, we have not focused on tools to integrate third party modules. Is your goal to program the device with LabVIEW, or simply communicate with it from LabVIEW? If it is only the latter, you can develop VISA drivers. Are you in the business of building I/O hardware, or would you be interested in working with us to see if we can meet your needs with current or future National Instruments products?

Thanks

We are developing our own FPGA products for other specific tasks and were just wondering if there was any way to market them as generic products as well.

It did sound a bit too good to be true 🙂

There are several targets in the research stage that I can't talk about, but I can tell you that we plan to have a PCI version of the current board, and also a PXI digital only version (no AI or AO, but more digital). If you have specific applications you'd like to discuss, feel free to contact me at geoff.hoekstra@ni.com
