I have tried only once which had run time compatible to XP, and I didnt have or notice any problem . I would say try downloading and install 8.2 runtime which is XP, VISTA and WINDOWS 7 compatible.

Where do you see that 8.2 is compatible with Windows 7 or Vista?

I'm sorry, didnt do background check, I have 8.2.1 and 8.6, there is no version of 8.2 which is compatible with Windows 7, latest is 8.2.1 which is compatible with Vista machines.

This question has been asked before MANY times. Did you try a search?
Some people (such as myself) have been able to get it to install by running the setup program as Administrator. Your mileage may vary.
