Can't get Basic Serial Write and Read.vi to run

Hello,

This is a strange problem because I've used this particular .vi many times before and never had a problem until I set up LabVIEW on my new laptop. I installed everything as I should without issue but for some reason when I try to run, I get the message:

"Error -1073807343 occured at Property Node (arg 1) in VISA Configure Serial Port (Instr).vi-> Basic Serial Write and Read.vi

Possible reason(s):

VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF0011) Insufficient location information or the device or resource is not present in the system. "

I have tried looking for the error in the forums but it never matches what I am doing and I cannot find a solution. This is a serious problem because I am on a timeline to hand in a project. Please advise.

Dumb question - is the right port selected for your new laptop? Maybe it is something like com5 instead of com1. Do you see the port in the Windows device manager?

Brilliant...I'm an idiot. I tried this at home and something was faulty so I was trying it at work without anything connected to the port. Thank you for showing me my error.
