Cannot find Ivi_InitWithOptionsAndGetError in ivi.dll for Keithley 6487

Hi Guys!

I'm trying to to some programming on the Keithley 6487. I thought it would be easy to just download the drivers on their webpage.
So i downloaded the the drivers and converted them with LV Interface Generator for Labwindows/CVI instrument driver 1.2.
Unfortunately the drivers to not work because of several problems: Sometimes the above mentioned message appears.
Another Problem is that the Intrument handler do not show my instrument. Usually i use VISA session to program, but this instrument handler seem to be IVI type sessions. How can i change this stuff, or how does it recognoize my Keithley?

Another questions is: I've seen something called Keithley I/O layer on keithley homepage, and it seems that the driver required this stuff. Can somebody explain to me what this I/O layer is?

Hello Andreas!

I don't know the Keithley 6487 but If you look at the Keithley websites there you can read that the Instrument Driver "Requires Installation of Keithley I/O Layer (KIOL-850)".

Did you installed this I/O Layer?

The Keithley I/O layer software manages the communications between Keithley instrument drivers and software applications and the instrument itself.  The I/O layer handles differences in communications required to support GPIB, serial, Ethernet, and other communications busses so that drivers and software applications do not need to handle the differences themselves.
