[LV7.1 on XP]
Last I checked, there was no way to programatically alter the permission groups for DataSocket Server. Changes were limited to using DataSocket Server Manager or plugging in different DSS Manager exported setups via file swapping with cwdssini.dss and restarting the DS server. I feel that I need something more dynamic than that, even if I have to programattically exit the DS Server, edit cwdssini.dss and relaunch DS Server. It's a rather large and complex app that is virtually finished in a time sensitive situation or I'd just forsake DSS for VIServer transfers.
1. Does LV8 provide any different means for dynamic editing of DataSocket Server permission groups?
2. Has anybody experienced any success in hacking cwdssini.dss?
Thought I'd better ask before attempting to reinvent the wheel. I have a difficult time understanding why the VI Server provides a mechanism for dynamic permission changes and DSS does not...
Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
Thanx,
Spaz
Wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then...
