Changing a numeric control's font (italics)

Hi,
Thanks in advance for your help. I am trying to modify the font of numeric controls using property nodes (NumText.FontItalic). No changes seem to be possible. Specifically, I would like to toggle between normal and italic font. Please note that I can't bold or change the font colour either. I have successfully changed background colours.
I am running LabView 6.0.2 on Windows 2000.

I've attached a VI that will do this for you.
The key here is to select the text you need to change first using the selection start and end property...
