Changing from LabVIEW 8.2 to LabVIEW 2020

In the past, I have been using LabVIEW 8.2 with the USB to GPIB interface NI-488.2. This week I have just downloaded LabVIEW 2020. Will I still be able to use the old USB to GPIB NI-488.2 hardware? Should I download the new firmware for the NI-488.2?

Thank You,

Gary

Not likely.  That is a LONG time between versions and the latest NI-488 driver might not work with your device.  But you can give it a try.  I did manage to fool my Windows 10 computer in thinking my really old USB-GPIB device was a modern version.  I eventually found a modern USB-GPIB controller and swapped it out.

What model is your GPIB device? I still use M-series DAQmx devices from that timeframe with latest DAQmx hardware. I'd say you have a decent shot at it, but not 100%.
