Use the coloring tool. If you haven't seen it before, Choose Window>>
Show Tool Palette, or hold the shift key while right clicking in open
space. Select the Coloring Tool, the brush, and right click on the
border of the structure.
When you say permanently, this will permanently change the color of
the structure you change -- until you change it again. If you want
the ones from the palette to drop with this color, then you will
want to build a merge VI that contains your modified structure and
add modify your palettes to contain the merge VI.
