Citadel Data "Blank Spots"

Hello,

We are logging a large number of Lookout objects (100+) to a Citadel database. When we examine the database, periodically there will be large periods of just white space .. the "Localtime" and "UTCTime" fields are fine, but there is absolutely no data in these gaps.

We are logging another set of data to a .csv file concurrently with the Citadel data, so it's not as if the system was shut down, since there is .csv data corresponding to the Citadel blank spots.

Does anyone know of a possible cause and solution to this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tritone,

The first thing I would do would be to upgrade to the latest Logos if your version of Lookout version is above 4.0:
ftp://ftp.ni.com/support/lookout/logos/logos.msi
I would also change the path to the citadel database and log the data in a new folder. If the "blank spots"don't happen again after the logos upgrade and the change of path to the citadel database, it is most likely that you have a corrupted database and I would follow the directions given in the following document:
http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/6FC62F75B74D706D8625694900768F69?OpenDocument

Also, are the periods of time random or is it always occuring at the same time?
Are you not seeing the data through an ODBC query(i.e MSQquery,Access..) or with the Hypertrend?

Let me k
now if any of this helped.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

Right after I posted I looked and noticed that we were using Logos v4.04.0.12 .. I'll upgrade to 4.04.0.15 and see if that helps. I don't think the database is corrupt, because it continues to happen even after we have deleted the old database and started from scratch.

The periods seem to be random, and we're looking at the data via ODBC queries in both Excel and Access.

I haven't tried to use a Hypertrend to view it yet, although I did examine the database using Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) .. it did the same thing. Before a certain time, data displays and exports
fine ... after that time (corresponding to the Excel / Access "blank spot") it just flatlines.

Any additional info would be appreciated!
