Clicking file-open caused all vi's to vanish, system kept running.

While my stsyem was operating I attempted to open another vi. When I clicked file-open all my vi's vanished and I was looking at my desk top. LabView also vanished from my task bar but the system kept running. I clicked on the icon on my desktop that launches my system and all vi's reappeared. This has happened a few times recently. I am running LabView 7 with DSC & Fieldpoint. The pc is a pentium 4 with Windows XP Professional and 1 gig Ram.

Hi,

This is a difficult one. Does this happen after doing something specific? Or after the application has reached a certain state? Or is it pretty random? Are you using OPC to talk to FieldPoint from DSC? Or front-panel DataSocket-OPC? How is the CPU usage when this happens?

I guess your system kept running because DSCEngine was still running.

How reproducible is this? Is it possible to narrow down your application (for troubleshooting purposes) to a smaller and simpler one with as little VIs and with memory tags? And post it here?

Sorry for not being of much help here.

Regards,

Khalid
