ColorBCGLookup not found using NI Vision 8.5 runtime

Hi there :-),

I am trying to deploy a labview 8.5.1 system which uses NI vision 8.5 runtime to do some image processing.  After moving all the software and relevant runtime licenses over to the production PC it complains about ColorBCLookup not being found.  I have migrated the vision VI's over from Labview 7.1 - Vision 8.0 to Labview 8.5.1 - Vision 8.5 development licenses with minimal change.  As far as I know (I didn't create the VI's) the VI's were created using Vision Assistant.  I had this exact same problem with the older versions of Labview and Vision so that is why the decision was made to update the software.  If anyone has has a similar problem in the past or knows of a solution it would be greatly appreciated if you could help.

Hi CWilliamson,

That is a VI that is installed with Vision.  If you go into NI License Manager on the deployment computer dose the Vision Run Time have a green block next to it?  This will tell us it is properly activated.  Dose the executable run on the development computer without the problem?

Hi there :-),

Thanks very much for getting back to me.  Yes, the VI does get installed with the Vision Development Module 8.5.  Yes, the NI License Manager does have a green block next to the NI Vision Run-Time entry.  And yes, the executable does run on the development computer without any problems at all.  Hope this helps :-).

On the target machine, do you have other versions of Vision installed? Anything other than the Vision 8.5 Run-Time? Did you install/migrate Vision Development Module VIs to the target machine - if so, what version of the module?

Hi there :-),

I don't have any other version of vision development or run-time installed on the PC.  I haven't installed any of the Development Module VI's since my understanding is that they should all be covered by installing the Vision run-time engine.  I started off with a barebones Windows XP install so no trace of Vision was on the hard drive.

As I understand it this is what you have installed on each PC:

Development Machine:

Windows XP

Vision Development Module 8.5

LabVIEW 8.5.1

(I know you mentioned you had migrated from Vision 8.0 to Vision 8.5, I assume that you wrote the executable in 8.5?)

Target Machine:

Windows XP

Vision Run-Time 8.5 (NOT Vision Run-Time 8.0)

LabVIEW Run-Time 8.5

Please confirm the above.

Also can you elaborate on this: I have migrated the vision VI's over from Labview 7.1 - Vision 8.0 to Labview 8.5.1 - Vision 8.5 development licenses with minimal change. This was on your development machine?

Hi Michelle :-),

Thanks very much for your help :-).  What you have described is almost correct.  I have the following main NI software installed on my development PC: Labview 8.5.1, Vision Development Module 8.5, Vision Acquisition 8.5.1, DAQmx 8.7, IMAQ USB 1.2, and Teststand 4.0.1.  The VI is present with the Vision Development Module but not with the run time software.  There are obviously smaller packages but they shouldn't affect this.  Hope this helps :-).

Hi CWilliamson,

It seems like you have everything installed correctly.  It is kind of a strange problem to run into.  Do you think that you could attach the .exe and supporting files so that I can try and run it on my end?  That would help to narrow down the problem to either something with the installation or the .exe its self.
