Combo Box use in a sub-vi

Hello,

I am using a combo box as a control in a sub-vi to give the user of the subvi a "pull down box" of all of the options availabe in the combo box, when they right click on the sub-bi input terminal. However I have discovered that when I put the combo box in a cluster that contains all of the inputs to the sub-vi the ability ro right click on the combo-box to get a pull-down is missing.

So what got all hosed up when I decided to use a cluster for my sub-vi?

Regards,

Kaspar

I don't quite understand what you're doing. Why would you right-click on the combo box to get the menu? It's a left-click that drops the menu. Are you right-clicking on the input terminal and selecting Create->Constant? Where are you right-clicking? On the constant? What exactly are you doing?

Hello,

Ok, guess I hosed up and by not clearly explaing myself, so here goes. I am using a combo box in a sub-vi as a control, since it is connected to a terminal of the sub-vi it will appear as a input to the sub-vi. When I place the sub vi on the block diagram I "right click" on the terminal of the sub-vi, create a constant and get a pull down of all of the choices are exist in the combo box in the sub-vi.

I have found out that my great sub-vi is required alot of inputs, so I have decided to have a input cluster (so I only use 1 terminal if the sub-vi) for all of the inputs. When I put the combo-box in a cluster, I lose the ability to right click, create a constant and see all of the choices in the combo box.

I don't, so I'm not sure what you're doing. See attached example in 8.2.

Perhaps you can upload a sample of what you're seeing?
