CompactRio With NI 9233 RS-232 Serial Port Questions

Hi guys, I have successfully completed 80% of my project with the help of everyone here, now that i have to move on to CompactRIO w/ a NI 9233 Module, i would like to actually use FPGA to run my VI in real time condition without the need of a computer, my question is when i am using RS-232 Serial Port, i actually use VISA serial/read/write, but now i would like to use the RS-232 port on the compactRIO to actually receive data from external source...

How do i do that? Is it the same as what i have done previously? Do i need any major restructuring? I have tried example finder on both my LABView 8.5 and on this website, but i can't find anything relevant... It's either there isn't any, or i'm not searching properly. Any help would be very much appreciated!

Hi Simmy,

You will need to install the NI-Serial driver, along with NI-VISA, on your cRIO for this to work, but otherwise it should act similarly to when you are running the vi from your computer.

The drivers shoud be available at http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/fn/p/sn/n23:3
