You need to be a bit more specific that we can help you.

What did you test so far?

What version of LabVIEW do you use?

Scan Interface or FPGA Programming?

What other modules do you have?

....

Thanks,

Christian

I am trying to programme 2 encoder using NI 9411 to get the angular data measurement. After capturing the angular data, it will then transmit the to 2 EPOS2 24/5 maxon motor using NI 9870. I need to create an FPGA programming then convert it to real-time. Currently, using a NI cRIO-9012 real time controller with NI 9104 chasis. Using a Labview 2010 version. The killer part is I am totally new to this labview and need guidance on how to collect the angular data first from the encoder to the NI 9411. Can someone help me?? Desperate for help..

Thanks...

Hi,

So you if you are looking for an example on how to use the 9411, please use the LabVIEW example finder and type in 9411.

If you need assistance for your application you could order a Startup Assistance from National Instruments.

If you are completely new to LV, LV RT and LV FPGA you should think about attending a class.

Hi Christian, the example is currently in scan mode..do you know how i could convert it to fpga? i am currently using fpga

Hi,

You are right, the examples are only for scanmode.

However you just need to open an FPGA project for your cRIO and you will see the 9411 Module as well as it's IOs under the fpga section in the project.

That's all.

Hi Christian,

I have attached a file that is used to count the number of counts from my encoder. However, the counts went beyond 2000 counts as my encoder is only up to 2000 per revolution. And also the reading is quite wierd. Do you know is there anyway that i can solve this problem? and Do you know how can i convert this counts to degree? Thank you

It seems that you opened a new discussion regarding the encoder question here.

Since you allready got answers I would encourage you to follow the other thread.

The other thread solutuin seems not to be working. I really need your expertise. I am having a problem regarding the encoder counts. My encoder specify that it can turn 2000 per revolution but currently, my count is over than 2000. Can you help me in solving this?
