Configuring independent devices in DAQ Assistant

I am wondering why I can't configure independent devices in DAQ.   For example, in the DAQ assistant I can't call out a AI from a PXI 6259 in slot 2 of my chassis, AND a temperature reading from SCXI slot 1?   I have older programs (LabVIEW 😎 where I have done this before.  It seems as if now I need a separate DAQ assistant for EVERY card in the chassis?  That does not make sense.

Hi Jmc,

I don't think it's possible to do this with SCXI. Your DAQ card is using it's AI to read from the chassis, but you can use other functions like DI/O or counters. In these previous programs you mentioned, what hardware were you using?

Also, what kind of readings are you doing with the 6259 and what card is the SCXI?
