Confusion regarding analog edge triggering and digital edge triggering in NI USB 6002 DAQ device

Hello,

I am actually using NI USB 6002 DAQ device, I am new to this device

I just connected my ni usb 6002 device with my function generator to acquire analog signal from function generator FG] [ connected with my AI0 and GND of usb with FG]. main purpose is to acquire analog signal from specific starting point to specific ending point. which is possible using triggering which is analog edge triggering in my case. i actually used daqmx start trigger and configured to perform this triggering type (photo and VI attached) but nothing is happening. i also saw some other community post saying ni usb 6002 does not support. external and internal analog edge triggering. Is it true ?? and its not going to happen in my LabVIEW. are there any alternative approach in my labview to do.

I also performed with daq assistant vi block. there is only one option coming saying digital edge. hence i configured it [ connected PFI1, gnd , 5v on breadboard. placing in different row and small 3 strip wire is used and is placed according to the same row of wire connection. will act as switch]

and i send my ramp signal with 1hz, 1 Vpp from function generator to ni device. when i run my lab view nothing is happening. but when i connect [strip wire of PFI 1 with 5v of strip wire.] it takes acquiring and displaying on waveform graph (photo and VI attached). how???.As PFI pin are actually digital input /output pin as well as perform external triggering. how its able to produce the analog signal. and how to provide any specific threshold voltage to acquire from specific starting point to specific ending point.

goal i wanted to acquire (photo attached title name wanted)
