Connecting wire to shift registers: giving error? need solution

Hi,

I am very new to LabView FPGA environment. I am currently working on a project and somehow I am not able to connect wire to shift register. Whenever I try to do it, LabView blows up and the performance of LabView is severley hampered as it occupies 50-55% of CPU usage when seen in Windows Task Manager. Can you let me know what the error might be? Also can you let me know how can I solve this problem?

Thanks,

BChidre

Hi,

There shud not be any error in connecting wire to shift register.if the data type connected to that shift register is same as that of the shift register is initialised for .

Can u give some more detail & upload ur code.which version of labview r u using?

Rgds,

I am confused.  If when you connect it, it blows up, then how do you run it at all?

@ Venky,

Both the wire and the shift registers are of the same data type (Fixed point). Whenever I try to connect them together, Windows just hangs up and take infinite time to come back to normal. I have to press Ctrl+Alt+Del to kill Labview.exe process. I am attaching an image file. If you see, I need to connect the shift register to the Fixed point AND gate which is in purple. Do let me know if you find anything in this regards.

@ MattBradley,

I can't run the VI as the "run" icon appears to be broke. But when I click the "run" icon the only error it lists is that the AND gate is not connected to Shift register. I am currently using LabView 8.5 FPGA. I am really not sure why it is blowing up as I have previously connected Shift registers with AND gates without any problems..Let me know if you get to know anything.....You can view the error.jpg file which I attached in my previous post to help you out...

Thanks in advance,

BC
