Contracting rates

Hi there,

Please excuse the slightly off-topic post...I didn't know where else to go
for some quick info. I've recently been offered some freelance work
developing a precision motion control/actuation system under LabVIEW and I
was wondering what are competitive hourly rates. This is in the Boston
area, I'm sorry I can't give more details since I have yet to meet with the
client for their exact specs. (BTW this is my first freelance job and as a
result I have no feel for what is "fair").

Thanks,

Assuming that you're not going to be working for this person, a good contact
for you might be Steve Temme of Listen, Inc. (http://www.listeninc.com/).
Steve operates in the Boston/Cambridge area and has employed freelancers in the
past. It's conceivable that he mi
ght even have some work for you, and I expect
he'd be more than happy to talk about the LabVIEW development scene in the
area.

Best Regards,
