Control OpenOffice from LabVIEW

Does anyone know how to automate OpenOffice applications from LabVIEW?

Are you wanting to have labview automate open excel or word or access. If this is what you are asking then here is an example for word.

Actually, I was refering to the OpenOffice.org suite (you know, the FREE office tools). I can control Microsoft products already but I would like to get away from them.

Good question!

I have never done this but Bonobo, ORBit, and CORBA are the first things
that come to mind. Went to the Gnome site and found this:
http://developer.gnome.org/arch/component/

Search for Bonobo and OpenOffice. Could be multiplatform too. I bet
LabVIEW's Call Lib Function Node could tap into the functions. I haven't
done it ... Sorry I can't provide more info.
