Controlling a system using knobs.

I would like to design a system wherein a value increments itself on every complete clockwise rotation of a knob and decrements itself on every complete anticlockwise rotation of the same knob.

Are you talking real physical knobs like in a multiturn potentiometer or encoder?  And if so, is it a potentiometer or an encoder?  Or are you talking about a knob like you would drop onto the front panel of LabVIEW.

i have attached a vi which will increment and decrement the value of a LabVIEW knob as you have told. And as Ravan has told, if its a physical knob, let us know what type is it. May be, making a little changes in the attached vi would work in that case as well.
