Controlling the time voltage is applied to a circuit

I am trying to supply a user specified voltage to a circuit for 5 seconds.  I have attached my VI (but not the subVIs) for reference.  I thought that selecting "generate 1 sample" on the DAQ Assistant would allow you to use software timing to control the time at which the DAQ card generates the signal.  I have placed the DAQ Assistant in a while loop that is controlled by an elapsed time block and ends after 5 seconds; however, when I measure the voltage supplied to the circuit, it is only supplied for about one second (rather than five).  What can I do to cause the DAQ card to generate a constant voltage for 5 seconds and then return to 0 volts?

Dear Tek,

If you feed the DAQ Assistant a signal that is 5 seconds and then feed a signal that is 0 V, your DAQ board will return 5 seconds worth of data. Please take a look at the attached VI. Have a great day!

Sincerely,

Marni S.
