Custom Scroll Control

Before I get grilled for double post, I appologise :). I posted this question here: "http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=180&message.id=46219&query.id=883820#M46219" but then I realised it was under LabWindows and not here (I couldn't find an option to move the posting, sorry).

Thanks

P.S.  Any replies are most appriciated.

I read your original post, but I'm still not sure I understand what you did with that control. Did you try starting with the table control itself and simply resizing the scroll bars?

Sorry for latepost.

No, I started with a verticle Slider and its corresponding digital Display. My goal here was to make a single numeric scrollbar. To do that I had to reshape and replace the Increment/decrement buttons of the digital display on top and bottom of the slider (since the increment/decrement are linked with the slider and it goes up/down accordingly). However, LabView wouldn't allow to change in any way the actual digital display of the slider, hence, I had to modify a Digital controller with its increment/decrement buttons and then replace the sliders digital display (if you right-click the option becomes available) with the one I modified seperately. But all that I was after was the increment/decrement buttons and not the actual digital display itself, so I minimised everything that I didn't need down to size 1 and hid them on the background somewhere.

This approach however only works for a single table, listbox, etc. and I have to make a seperate controll everytime I want to use it, since I could't rezise the thing.

What I am after is a way of achieveing my previous attachment in a different way, that makes more sense, and that I can use it universally, i.e. in any table, listbox that I need, without having to make a seperate custom controler everytime I want to use it.

I hope it makes sence.

smercurio_fc - What you've provided does not allow me to change the Vertical scroll bar pieces, (i.e. the Up/Down arrows and the slide box in the middle that you can slide up/down). Hence, since I had to make it finger friendly, and make it look rather nice, the closest I've gone is to what I've provided in the attachment on my first mesage using Slider controll as the starting point. But the slider controll doesn't come with the Up/Down buttons, so I had to use the increment/decrement buttons of its Digital Display, but then again, Labview doesn't allow you to modify the digital display linked to the slider, so I had to replace the digital display of the slider with a controll that I had previously modified (i.e. its increment/decrement buttons), I then used the increment/decrement buttons as the Up/Down for the slider.

Sorry if I'm not explaining correctly.

Thanks

sorry guys for continuouing this thread again, but I'm still stuck in this problem.

I appriciate any input that comes this way.

P.S. This may be a dummy question, BUT:

Is there a way of making a Custom "Y/X Scroll Bar" from scratch? I mean without having to use a slider or any other controller in the first place.

Thanks in advaned.

No, you can't start from "scratch". I don't know if this will help or just make things more confusing for you, but you may want to consider looking at XControls.

I was hoping it wouldn't come to this.

Thanks fc.
