D-trig NI-DAQ-card with A-trig from niScope-card?

Hi

I have 2 cards in my workstation:
PCI-6023E (NI-DAQ)
and
PCI-5112 (niScope)

The Ni-daq don't support analog hardware triggering so I would like to use digital triggering on this card taken from when my niScope gets triggered.
Is this possible?

See attachment!

Any help appreciated
Thanks

Hi Jakob,

I'm assuming that your scope is being triggered from some kind of external source and that you are trying to use this source as trigger and scan rate for the PCI-6023E!?

The example called Cont Acq&Graph ExtScanClk D-Trig.vi in LabVIEW should be what you are looking for. The example waits for a start trigger, then starts the acquisition
asn samples according to the scan clock (your external signal).
The two pieces of software code (NI-daq and NI-scope) are running independently, but are connected to the same source externaly.

Let me know if you need more information.

Hi

I am using external analog trigering. This is not supported by the PCI-6023E.
That is why I use the scope-card for triggering.

I want to have a fixed number of samples recorded by the PCI-6023E every time the analog trigger comes (from the scope-card).

My problem is how to connect, in labview, the trigger from the scope-card-spftware to the PCI-6023E-software.

Hi Jakob,

It sounds to me like you are talking about a software trigger? Is that true?
What is the level of your analog trigger signal? Best an easiest thing would be, if this signal could be used as digital trigger.
