DMA FIFOs From Multiple FPGAs to one RT Target

Hi All,

I hope this isn't a re-post.  I have two FPGA cards communicating to an RT controller on a PXI chassis.  I've been told that each FPGA card has independent DMA channels that shouldn't interfere with each other.  For example, if I have one FIFO bringing analog data from each FPGA card with both FIFOs using DMA channel 1, I hear that I should have no problem.

I tried this and haven't gotten any sort of compile error, but I'm not getting any data on the receiving end of either DMA FIFO.  Does anyone know from experience that this works?  Have you tried it successfully?  I have a hunch that my problem may be elsewhere, so I'm trying to eliminate this as a possibility.

Thanks in advance,

Jim

Howdy Jim,

It is common for people to have multiple R Series cards in a PXI controller where each card is using DMA channels 0, 1 and 2. The controller is not looking for DMA Chanel 0, it is looking for Slot X/DMA Chanel 0.

Thanks Charlie,

That's exactly the answer I was looking for.  I figured it was pretty common to run multiple R series cards, I just hadn't done it before.

Thanks for getting back to me!
