Also, CPU was at 100% and memory usage was climbing.
I called NI support and was given REQ# 449016.
After downloading the files I posted and making the SCF file active, support did not observe this problem.
Assuming Support's machine was up to date and knowing my machine had not been updated since LV 6.1 DSC was installed, I downloaded and installed the fixes that where posted 3 months ago. The link for this updates follows.

After installing these updates and re-starting LV-DSC the problem was no longer present.
