Datasocket write and close / remote OPC server / PC freeze when no connection

Hello,

I have tried a lot of things with the Data Socket approach, but the same freezing behavior always reappears.

This is a Corrective Action Request open to fix the problem/issue of the User Interface thread that seems to hang for a certain amount of time.

Can you try the approach used in http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/7450 to see if this fixes your problem.

Especially the sections "Connect LabVIEW to OPC Tags by Creating an I/O Server" and "Create Shared Variables that Connect to the OPC Tags through the I/O Server" will be interesting for your purpose.

I do not understand:

- Do you mean that you have posted a separate request (CAR) to the NI development team?

- What do you want me exactly to do with the link that you refered to as it applies for DSC and we use Datasocket to avoid paying dozens of time for the DSC module. I do not follow you.

The application that I have developped is installed on more than 100 stations worldwide. At €800 piece for the DSC RTS it is way too expensive. And also all the application has been developped using Datasockets.
