Default value for channel control

I had a question concerning the channel input to one of the Analogue Configure VI's. I have the input in the control as 0:7 for channels 0-7 to be used. However even if I right click on the control and set this as a default, it resets to just "0" everytime the VI is reopened and run. Any ideas why?

What type of control are you using? (ie: string or numeric control)

If I try a string or enumerator control, I can set the default value as "0:7". A numeric control won't take the column (:) and gives me a "7" instead of a zero.

Let us know what type a control you are using. What type of instruments are you controlling?
