Developer suite validity

Quick question....

If I have a developer suite and decide at some stage int he future to not renew, will my licence key remain valid or is ti only valid as long as i have the developer suite?

Intaris,

License should remain valid.  You will just be locked in at some revision level determined by when the SSP expired.  I have in the past acutally called NI about a dev suite that had been off maintenace for several years and was able to obtain the revs of software it was locked in at.

That was my understanding also but I had trouble activating a copy of LabVIEW today and was in touch with NI support and he mentioned something about my serial number in the computer being valid until the end of my next renewal date (he mentioned the actual date, I just recognised it as my renewal date).  That kind of gave me a fright.....

If I keep the last version of software (or any before) I've paid for then it's all OK with me.

Shane.

You should still be able to re-install your dev suite after the expiry date.  Your subscription expires, but not your license..

There is a place in the support portion of the site which allows you to see the residual value of your package and / or the cost to renew your subscription.  So you can renew even after the expiry date.  (or at least that's how it was in the past)
