Devicenet explicit messaging an Ion gaige in Labview 6i

Solved!

Hi

I am trying to send an explicit message to an ION gauge via Labview 6i. I have the gauge working on the D-network and can read pressure via another compiled Vi, but when it comes to writing commands via the explicit message method- this is new to me, and worse I get no response from the device.

Pretty sure it's me doing things wrong, but having never done it before, so not sure what.

Can somone take a look at the code and tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Basically trying to send an explicit message Service Code 62, ClassID 31, Instance ID 2 across to MACID21 - which should turn on the emission (ION Gauge element) but it actually does nothing....

Heeeeelp.

Hi Steve,

Are you able to attach a copy of your code please as I can't really see exactly what your doing from the picture you have provided.

Hi

Well I've been trying some more and now the code looks a little different, see atatched.

I've also been told the two gauges I've been sent have a different settup to the manual, meaning they were never going to turn on...... SWEEEET.

Anyway, it would be good for someone to run an eye over my work to check it looks OK.

cheers

Steve

Hi Steve,

If you are able to post the actual VI (and it's dependancies) on here I can have a look through them and see if I can offer any advice.

Apart from that, it looks ok.

Hi - thanks for your help.

The gauges I had were set incorrectly by the manufacturer, they were telling me the wrong explicit message commands..... so it was never going to work.

Glad it looks OK otherwise.
