Diagam-like front pannel

Can you use the picture control to create a diagram-like control on the front pannel where the user can draw items based on tools that I provide them? For instance I want the end user to be able to draw their system, which is a conveyor line, and add objects to it that I provide them such as weigh scales. Then as the program runs they will be able to see what is going on with thier system from the picture they drew on the front pannel much like way execution highlighting works. Can LabView accomplish this or should I try using another programming language?

Yes!

It can be done in more than one way.

The straight forward aproach uses customized controls and indicators and possibly objects from the Industrial automation tool kit to illustrate the system you are monitoring and controlling.

It is also possible to develop an application that will let you define a system "on the fly" but this requires a lot of work to support this level of flexibility.

Where can I find an example of this if one is available?

That's a different question.

Look at

Search Examples >>> Buiding User Interfaces >>> Customizing Controls >>> Control Mixer Process.VI.

Look at the others that are there.

Be for-warned that I founds these on the LV-DSC machine I am on at the moment. I am not sure if these are present on non-DSC machines.
