Dialog box lauched from a pull down menu?

HI,
I am making a custom menu and I want to be able to launch a dialog box when the user selects a certain menu item. Then the user will input a value into the box, click OK and I want my front panel to show the value entered after the dialog box closes. there has to be some kind of example of how to do this. Any help will be appreciated,

Its a LabVIEW 6 .llb. Do you need an older version?

Sorry, it's just that my LabVIEW 6.0 is on another computer so I have to save the file and it saved in unknown format here so I assumed it was just an executable. Will I just be able to lauch it in LabVIEW and then see the code?
