Distributing MAX 4.0 with a LabVIEW 8 application

I have a LabVIEW application that I would like to distribute MAX with.  When I selected MAX 4.0 as an additional installer in the LabVIEW project (LabVIEW v8), I was able to successfully build the application.  When I attempted to install it on a user machine, however, I received a screen full of "File not found" errors.  I ended up installing an older version of MAX from the GPIB-488 software and building the app with MAX not included.  This enabled me to do what I wanted to do with MAX (rename serial ports on the user machine), but it would be much easier when installing on other machines if I could include MAX in the LabVIEW build.  Any suggestions?

When you selected the MAX installer under additional installers, did you specify a disk to grab the file from? On the right hand side of the options you will see something called "Installer Source Location." This should default to the location from which you installed MAX 4.0. Make sure that you have the disk in the drive when running the installer. If this isn't an option I would suggest copying the disk it is asking for to a temp directory and re-direct the location there. Let me know how this goes.

It seemed to work this time.  When I installed my application on a laptop running Windows XP, however, I now get an error at startup: "nipalsm.exe - Application Error,,,memory could not be read."  This did not occur before on this machine.
