Do I/O variables work when being built into an application(.exe)?

Hi, i will be using I/O variables with compact rio. but do they work, when as part of a stand alone appication??

Yes. There are very few nodes that only work in the development environment but not a built stand-alone, and I don't think what you are calling an "I/O Variable" falls into this small category.
