Do I need drivers for Agilent 41501B to work with Agilent 4156C

I use labview to work with Agilent 4156C Precision Semiconductor Parameter Analyzer. Analyzer connected to Agilent 41501B Generator. If the tools are rebooted labview cannot configure the SPA. I have to configure it manually and then I can use it with Labview. The only think I can think of, is that I do not use drivers for Generator. I checked NI website, and I did not see any. Do I need  Generators drivers if I use SPA that connected to one?

Thank you

So are you using the drivers for the 4156C?  The 41501B is only connected to the 4156C, correct?  Does the 41501B need to be configured as well before you use both in LabVIEW?  Technically you should only need the drivers for 4156C if that is the only thing connected to the computer.  However, there may be some functionality that is not included in those drivers to automatically set up the 41501B that you would have to add to your program, if it is an available feature.  This may require a bit of research on your part.

Hope this helps!

Hi
thread is to agilent webpage with all info with regards to 41501B
http://www.home.agilent.com/cgi-bin/pub/agilent/search/r2v2/generalSearchResults.jsp?searchString=41501B&searchInterestArea=000&LANGUAGE_CODE=eng&NAV_ID=-11144.0.00&QueryValid=true&COUNTRY_CODE=US&gen_search_go=Go

the GPIB reference manual should give you more guidance with regard to appropiate commands as it covers both models.
