Do we have seperate drivers for Mega PAC PXI

HI
I have a mega PAC PXI. My system crashed and i used the PXI recovery media to get the system working.
few weeks before the system crashed, the LCD monitor did not work. So we used an external monitor.
The recovery media brought my system to life and started windows 2000. At this point my lcd display also started working. The LCD display worked for the entire installation. It again went dead when the system restarted after installation.
Based on the above i have the following doubts,
1. Do i need to install any software for the LCD monitor in Mega PAC PXI chasis.
2. What is the PXI chasis software that is shipped along with the PXI used for.
3. Do we have any setting in the PXI to switch between external monitor and
the LCD display.

Hi,

It sounds as if your PXI controller is not set up to use the LCD screen. Before elaborating, let me answer your questions.

1. In order to use the LCD screen, you need to make sure you are using the driver for your controller's video adaptor. If you used the recovery CD that came with your controller, then you already have the drivers installed. In case you do not have the right driver, all of the drivers for NI PXI controllers are available online at http://www.ni.com/support/vxi/vxi_perph.htm.

2. The PXI chassis software consists of a pxisys.ini file and a chassis.ini file. Basically, these files tell your PXI controller how your PXI chassis is configured. For more information on these files, please review KnowledgeBase 1EGB71UI: What Are PXISYS.INI and CHASSIS.INI? at http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/862567530005F09C862566A0005EAB87?OpenDocument.

3. The configuration for your PXI controller will depend on which controller you are using. If you are using a PXI-8150B series or a PXI-8170 controller, then there are switches on the controller that need to be set. If you are using a PXI-8171 series controller, there are no switches to set. With all of the controllers, there are settings in the BIOS that need to be configured. Additionally, you must enable LCD display in the display properties in Windows. For information on configuring a PXI-8150B or a PXI-8170 controller, please review Using the PXI-8150B and PXI-8170 Series Controllers in the PXI 1025 Chassis available at http://digital.ni.com/manuals.nsf/webAdvsearch/E6B5649F5D9E9B748625689B0053C509?OpenDocument&vid=niwc&node=132100_US. For information on configuring a PXI-8171 Series controller, please review Page 2-11 of the NI 8171 Series User Manual available at http://digital.ni.com/manuals.nsf/webAdvsearch/5C0C802DC9320B4586256B76006EFE60?OpenDocument&vid=niwc&node=132100_US. For information on configuring the display properties in Windows, please review KnowledgeBase 2PQFF2UK: How to Set Up a PXI-8171 Series Controller in a PXI-1020 or PXI-1025 for Dual Monitor Display at http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/950CDA9B4EF7130386256C4100761DC3?OpenDocument.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you run into any more problems.
