Documentation of HTTP Post does not mention instances (BUG)

Solved!
Go to solution

The documentation of the HTTP-post VI (see here) does not mention that there are 2 instances of this VI. It only contains help on the string instance.

Right clicking on the VI shows that it's a Polymorphic VI, with a Buffer (string) and File (paths) instance.

Normally the help for such VIs would have an 'Instance' ring from which you could see that there are other instances. (example)

This absence has caused me several hours of debugging, since the Buffer method stops reading the string upon finding a NULL byte. (that might be a seperate bug).

In my opinion all the polymorphic VIs should show their selector terminal.

Dear Ton,

I reported the documentation issue in corrective action request# 244384. I will have a further look in the issue about finding the null byte. Thank you for bringing this up.
