Does RT 8.6 work with Labview 8.5?

I have Labview 8.5 on my desktop and I want to load RT 8.6 from an evaluation CD onto a target PC. Will they work together? I don't want to upgrade Labview on my desktop because then I will have to downgrade once the eval period runs out.

No. You always need the exaclty same version of LabVIEW RT like from your LabVIEW.

I have several Labview version on my PC. They can work side by side. But they can not share source files, or toolkits. So I guess you can install Labview 8.6 in eval mode, and then Labview RT in eval mode. Then you make a copy of your 8.5 code and store it in a separate folder, for test driving the RT system. After the eval period you simply uninstall Labview 8.6 and the RT module.
