Does anyone know how to add a "version resource" to a labview .EXE?

I would like to add a version resource to a labview 7 windows exe built with the application builder (so that a version tab shows up in explorer). I've tried adding a compiled resource as a supplementary file - no joy. Anybody know how to do this (if it can be done)?

The closest thing I can think of is:
How Can I Add an "About" Screen for an Executable Built with the LabVIEW Application Builder?

You might also look at editing the MSI with MS's ORCA. It is not easy but it will give an expert more flexibility with the installer options.

I've found an answer to my own question: Resource Hacker (http://www.users.on.net/johnson/resourcehacker/) can add or modify resources in executables.

I have successfully added a version resource with it.

Thanks Jeremy, but I've found a way to do it (see my other post). Now I'm wondering how to extract the version information at runtime to populate the about box 🙂
