You don't have time to attach the VIs?
Your question about the spec analyzer has been already answered.

No, the driver is not well written but it is the only one available and I don't any evidence of modifications. If you in fact want to try to use this driver, then you will have to modify it yourself. Your other option is to start from the beginning. This option has also been mentioned before to you.
Your lab appears to be equipped with nothing but old and obsolete equipment. The drivers for them are in the same state.

I am using an old HP 3048A system, it is the ugliest and most cumbersome software I have ever encountered. It has taken a huge effort to get the old HP basic code to work. We have the 3561A FFT spec analyzer-11848A phase noise interface- HP 8663A signal generator- HP3585B medium frequency spectrum analyzer.
If you still wish to use the old code seach for the one support location called "timenuts" and John Miles who can be found using his amateur radio callsign KE5FX.
With his help I got a system running. I agree it would be better if someone could re-write the code but their is 292,000 lines of code!
Good luck.
Unfortunately if you can't pay $90,000.00 to $128,000 for new test equipment you are stuck with an older system except for one alternative, a new company in Boulder Colorado that is building a commercial system for around $45,000.00 "www.holzworth.com".
Rohde shwarz has a good system for around $100,000.00.
Agilent's system is around $92,000.00 model E5052A.
