Go to the National Instruments website, go to drivers and updates, and look under "Data Acquisition". The NI-DAQ drivers 6.6 definitely supports the 1200, and up to 6.9 probably does. You can make calls right into the .dll.
I would suggest downloading NI-DAQ 6.9 and install with options. When installing with options you can select C++ support as well as installing the examples. Also I would suggest installing Visual Basic examples as well. You can open then up with a txt viewer and see how the functions were called.
